User administration app
Within Summar.io a user can have several Roles and each role will provide access to certain apps. Besides the different roles the user has one or more e-mail addresses which can be used to log in. To administer all the user information the User administration app is used. This app is only accessible for users with the Administration role. With this app it is not possible to add users. This has to be done in the Staff administration- or Student administration app.
The screen consists of two parts, the user selection- and the user information part. The last part only becomes visible after selecting a user.
User selection
To simplify the user selection there is a filter-option on the left side of the screen. By typing in the name of the user or his Role and confirming it by hitting the ENTER-key the list of users is adjusted.
By selection the user from the list the right part of the screen, the user information, gets populated.
User information
In the right part of the screen user information is shown. The upper part of this section shows all the accounts a user can use to login to the system. This could be a Google+, an Office 365 or a local account.
It is possible to register multiple types of accounts here. With the drop-down list you select a type of account that needs to be added. By pressing the 'Plus' button an input field will be visible where the address can be filled in.
By pressing the 'Trashcan'-button you can remove an account. If you remove all accounts the user gets deactivated.
It is also possible to ask a user to enter a new Password. This can be done by the 'Invalidate password-button' The user will receive an e-mail with a request to change his or her password. This only applies for local accounts.
Account types
A user can log in in different ways. This allows the user to log in with his Office 365 or Google+ account. To make this possible, you must choose Office 365 or Google+ as the account type. In the field you must enter the e-mail address that is used for the relevant services. The user can then log in by clicking on the Office 365 or Google+ icon in the login screen. If the user has forgotten his or her password, this must be changed in the relevant service. This is not possible from Summar.io.
The third type of account is the local account. Every e-mail address can be used here to log in. When such an account is created, the user receives an e-mail with a link to create a password. Afterwards you can log in with the e-mail address and new password.
The second part of the screen shows the roles that apply to the selected user.
The roles of Staff member and Student are automatic selected when you add a user in the Staff administration- or Student administration app.
When a user has the role of Staff member the roles of Administrator, Manager, Teacher and Beta user become available.
